One fine day when I felt like I should give a try to go down, I sat down and thought where to start. Then I realized that I should go more Organized this time and to keep a plan for myself. So I searched my books for all kinda good and bad food Details. Oh! those books were so dusty.. Anyhow I read Some details patiently and then sat front of the computer to discover more. I found True stories of people, how they worked to lose weight and more of all I found scientific information on latest discoveries on food and nutrition. Well I also found some rubbish data as well. For the first time I realized my Snacks are the real enemies. These snacks I take includes Hi fat deep fries, hi sugary cookies, carbonated drinks, and lots and lots of starch! I thought to keep a food diary to track down my path and I realized It might help me to find myself when I Go over the limit. So this is how I started it..
I found a small Diary and took a pen to note down some important information. In the very first page I wrote the Details about me. Starting with my name, age, Height, weight, BMI (body mass Index), My current status(underweight, normal, overweight), my Target weight(how much you wanna weigh), My lifestyle (low, Moderately active, very active), and finally some measurements of my body. I took the measurements around my neck, breasts, upper arm, waist, Hip, and thigh. You might think these is rubbish but trust me this is important. this is how you get to know yourself better. some of us have a smaller image of our body in our mind but actually we are overweight. so once you find all the details you can understand better.
OK that was the first page of my journal. then I wrote down my health conditions. I have allergies, constipation and my fasting blood sugar level is normal but its bit higher than the average value. My Cholesterol levels are normal. My father had diabetes and High blood Pressure So I wrote them as the health condition of my family. Since my grandmother had a cancer, I wrote it down as well. Did you know that if somebody in your family had a cancer there is a chance of you getting it? and Did you Know the Food we eat also have the Impact on expressing or fighting the cancers? So according to my background what I realized was My diet should include less refined carbs, less sugar, less salt, less fat, more fresh fruits, raw vegetables, more antioxidants and lot of water. Antioxidants prevent cancers and help burning off extra Fats. So I decided to include more of Antioxidants to my diet.
As a matter of fact I have tried many diets over the past few years. Some Diets really helped me to lose some weight. But some were really hard to follow and in some cases I started eating more eventually. so keeping a journal Helped me to note myself that "I'm Watching YOU! So that was the basic Step of my diet Program. And next step is some important Facts I discover thanks to my Text books, all those food Scientists, Internet and all those who shared them.
